Panthers And Bruins Battle For Championship Glory

The Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins faced off in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday night, with both teams vying for their first championship in over a decade.

The Panthers, who haven't won a Cup since 1996, came out strong in the first period, outshooting the Bruins 13-7 and taking a 1-0 lead on a power play goal by Jonathan Huberdeau.

But the Bruins responded in the second period, with goals from Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak, to take a 2-1 lead. The Panthers continued to fight, tying the game up on a goal by Aleksander Barkov early in the third period.

With just over five minutes left in the game, the Bruins took the lead once again on a goal by Patrice Bergeron. The Panthers pulled their goalie in the final minutes of the game, but were unable to score the tying goal.

The Bruins take a 1-0 series lead heading into Game 2, set to take place on Wednesday night. The Panthers will need to step up their game if they hope to even the series and bring the Cup back to Florida.
